Welcome to The Priory Forge
We are Tim and Jayne Whittington and we started building the purpose made forge and equine facilities in 2010 with the ethos of running an all round Equine Therapy Centre in Worcestershire. My husband Tim has been a qualified farrier (DWCF ATF) since 1985, and as well as being a father and a husband, Tim runs a busy farrier business and also trains apprentices at the forge, son Alex is a qualified DWCF.
I myself have ridden and showjumped for many years and I have been very lucky to have trained and worked with many top riders throughout my career before starting out with The Priory Forge. I have gained a valuable wealth of knowledge and understanding of horses and I believe total empathy is the key to equine rehabilitation and recovery.
My appreciation of flatwork for showjumping has taken me in a total different direction and I now train my current horse for Dressage, however I still enjoy teaching riders of all levels over polework and showjumps, and I can always be found still having a quiet jump on my current horse just to keep her happy.
We believe strongly that The Priory Forge is a happy and cheerful place to be, the horses pick up on this and that in turn helps them to be calm and settled. We ensure all clients horses are looked after as our own would be and attention to deatil is vital. My love of horses has grown since childhood and there is not a day I would not be without them.
